Primary Responsibilities :
Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat disorders related to the digestive system, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and gastrointestinal tract.
- Conduct OPD consultations and inpatient management.
- Evaluate patients with gastrointestinal symptoms and formulate treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases, including:
- Acid reflux (GERD)
- Peptic ulcers
- IBS & IBD
- Liver diseases
- Pancreatitis
- Hepatitis
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
Endoscopic Procedures
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including:
- Upper GI Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- ERCP (if trained)
- Endoscopic Biopsies
- Interpret procedure findings and prepare detailed reports.
Patient Care & Counseling
- Educate patients regarding digestive health, diet modifications, and preventive care.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term management.
- Monitor treatment outcomes and conduct follow-up consultations.
Emergency & Inpatient Care
- Handle gastroenterology emergencies including GI bleeding, liver failure, and severe abdominal conditions.
- Coordinate with ICU, surgery, radiology, and pathology teams for multidisciplinary patient management.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation.
- Follow hospital protocols, medical ethics, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Experience Requirements:
Mandatory Requirements
- DM/DNB Gastroenterology from a recognized institution.
- Valid Medical Council Registration.
- Minimum 3–4 years of post-specialization experience.
- Experience in independently handling OPD, IPD, and endoscopic procedures.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
- Good exposure to liver and pancreatic disorders.
- Ability to handle emergency gastroenterology cases.
- Hindi-speaking candidates preferred.
- Excellent communication and patient management skills.
- Team-oriented approach with strong clinical decision-making abilities.
