Primary Responsibilities :
Supply Chain Planning
- Develop procurement, inventory, and distribution strategies.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments.
- Monitor supply chain performance and implement process improvements.
Transportation Management
- Plan and manage road, rail, and air freight operations.
- Select carriers based on cost, efficiency, and service quality.
- Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts.
- Optimize routes to reduce logistics costs and improve delivery timelines.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock shortages/excesses.
- Supervise warehouse operations including receiving, storage, dispatch, and packing.
- Conduct stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure proper storage and material handling practices.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track logistics KPIs such as:
- Cost per shipment
- On-time delivery performance
- Order accuracy
- Fleet utilization
- Prepare MIS reports and recommend improvements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ISO requirements.
- Manage shipping documentation and customs clearance for international shipments.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
Fleet & Workshop Management
- Schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle inspections and statutory requirements.
- Supervise mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff.
- Manage spare parts inventory and workshop tools.
- Maintain fleet records, registrations, permits, insurance, and licenses.
- Monitor fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and operational expenses.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives for fleet optimization.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Mechanical Engineering
- Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years in Logistics, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, or Workshop Operations.
- Experience managing heavy vehicles/commercial fleets preferred.
