Role Summary
The Lead – Technical Services will head technical services for conductor and OPGW products in the USA, ensuring best-in-class technical support and customer satisfaction for utility and EPC clients.
This role is critical in ensuring that customer requirements for aluminium conductors, aluminium alloy conductors (including HTLS), and OPGW are fully met through strong technical leadership and industry expertise.
Competency Profile
1. Knowledge
20+ years in conductor, cable, OPGW, or similar industry
Strong customer-facing engineering experience
Deep understanding of US utility industry standards and grid codes
Experience with large-scale transmission projects
Knowledge of ASTM, IEC, IEEE standards and ISO 9001 quality systems

Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
1. Customer & Utility Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with US utility customers, engineers, procurement heads, and technical stakeholders
Provide technical support to facilitate sales and product approvals
2. Technical Application Expertise
Act as subject matter expert for transmission conductors
Perform and validate Sag-Tension analysis, clearance calculations, AC/DC resistance, and thermal limits
Utilize industry software such as PLS-CADD
3. Technical Consultation & Advisory
Provide high-level consultation on conductor selection, line uprating, and system load reliability
Support EPC firms and utilities on electrical and mechanical performance parameters
4. Metallurgical & Material Oversight
Oversee metallurgical properties of conductor materials
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) related to fatigue, creep behavior, and corrosion mechanisms
5. Technical Services Leadership
Manage day-to-day technical services operations
Lead new product introductions and after-market support
Handle client-facing technical problem resolution
6. Documentation & Compliance
Ensure technical documentation is updated (installation guides, QA protocols, maintenance standards, engineering drawings)
Align with ASTM, IEC, IEEE, and ISO 9001 standards
7. Field Support & Issue Resolution
Provide technical support during installation, audits, and field incidents
Lead corrective and preventive action processes
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D and Sales for product improvements and competitive positioning
Track technical service KPIs and customer feedback
