Role Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations within a conductor manufacturing environment in the USA. The role focuses on risk identification, prevention, regulatory compliance, training, and creating a strong safety culture across plant operations.
Competency Profile
1. Knowledge
5+ years of safety management experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and U.S. safety legislation
Understanding of hazardous material management and environmental compliance
Knowledge of factory and industrial safety regulations

Excellent communication and report writing abilities

Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
1. Policy Development & Compliance
Develop and enforce OHS policies aligned with OSHA and state regulations
Ensure compliance with all federal and state safety standards
2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
Conduct risk assessments related to hazardous substances, heavy machinery, molten metal handling, and electrical systems
Implement preventive and corrective measures
3. Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct regular safety training sessions
Focus on chemical handling, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and emergency preparedness
Promote safety awareness across all levels
4. Monitoring & Inspection
Inspect production lines, storage areas, and waste management systems
Identify unsafe practices and ensure corrective actions
5. Incident Investigation & CAPA
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
Prepare detailed reports and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
6. Documentation & Record Management
Maintain records of inspections, hazardous material handling, waste disposal, and compliance documentation
7. Regulatory Coordination
Liaise with regulatory authorities
Ensure plant adherence to OSHA and environmental standards
8. Hazardous Material & Process Safety
Oversee safe handling and storage of aluminium, alloys, chemicals, and fluxes
Ensure proper ventilation, dust extraction, and fume capture systems
Monitor smelting, extrusion, casting, and wire drawing processes for heat, mechanical, and electrical hazards
9. Emergency Preparedness
Lead mock drills for fire, chemical spills, and electrical emergencies
Ensure readiness of emergency response systems
