Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head Chef to lead overall kitchen operations of a modern, upscale, multi-cuisine diner. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in managing staff, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. The candidate must have hands-on experience with modern food trends and should come with a background in elite cafés or contemporary dining spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth functioning.

Manage and train kitchen staff, build strong teamwork, and allocate responsibilities efficiently.

Maintain high-quality standards in food preparation, plating, taste, and consistency.

Develop and innovate menus aligned with modern culinary trends.

Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness protocols.

Oversee inventory, stock control, vendor coordination, and cost management.

Monitor performance, implement SOPs, and ensure timely service for a 150+ cover diner.

Collaborate with management on menu planning, food costing, and kitchen budgeting.

Maintain discipline, professionalism, and a positive work environment within the kitchen.

 

Experience Requirements:

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 10 years of professional culinary experience.

Preferred age above 40 years.

Strong experience working in elite cafés or modern casual/upscale dining establishments.

Must be well-versed in Asian, Continental, Chinese, and limited Indian cuisines.

In-depth knowledge of modern food trends, plating styles, and contemporary dining expectations.

Hands-on experience in managing a full kitchen team and operations.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent results.

Not looking for candidates strictly from hotel backgrounds.
