POSITION OVERVIEW

The Design Associate will play a key role in creating and preparing artwork for production across various custom apparel processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer experienced in vectorization, digitization, and production-ready file creation. You will collaborate closely with production and operations teams to ensure that every design—no matter the complexity—is accurate, high-quality, and ready for manufacturing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Convert client concepts and sketches into clean, scalable vector graphics suitable for printing and embroidery.

Digitize artwork into embroidery-ready files (DST, EMB, etc.), optimizing stitch types, densities, and sequencing.

Prepare, clean, and optimize raster images using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.

Test and proof vector and embroidery files for clarity, scaling, and color accuracy.

Work with production teams to ensure artwork meets technical requirements for screen printing, embroidery, and other apparel processes.

Maintain an organized digital library of artwork, mock-ups, fonts, and assets.

Create quick mock-ups and digital proofs for internal teams and client presentations.

Revise and update designs based on feedback, troubleshooting issues such as thread breaks, alignment, or color mismatches.

Stay updated on new design tools, print/embroidery techniques, and software advancements.

 

Experience Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of graphic design experience, preferably within apparel, promotional products, or custom merchandise.

Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.

Solid understanding of vectorization, digitization, and preparation of production-ready files.

Knowledge of embroidery software (Wilcom, Hatch, etc.) is an advantage.

Familiarity with color management and common print methods (screen printing, DTG, heat transfer, etc.).

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment.

Clear and professional communication skills, with comfort working cross-functionally.
