Job Title: Patient Scheduler / Appointment Coordinator
Department: Medical Billing

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patient Scheduler / Appointment Coordinator to manage patient appointments, coordinate with healthcare providers, and ensure smooth communication between patients and the medical billing team. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, basic knowledge of healthcare operations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Appointment Scheduling

Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in coordination with healthcare providers.

Manage appointment cancellations and no-shows with timely follow-up actions.

Patient Communication

Make outbound calls to patients to confirm demographics and insurance details.

Remind patients about upcoming appointments, required documents, and pre-authorizations.

Provide clear instructions related to visit type (in-person, telehealth, follow-up, etc.).

Ensure accurate insurance information entry to prevent claim denials.

Coordinate with the eligibility and verification team when required.

Documentation & Data Entry

Record patient demographics, insurance, and appointment details accurately in the practice management system (e.g., eCW, athena, etc.).

Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality policies.

Required Skills & Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation.

Knowledge of healthcare terminology, insurance plans, and basic medical billing.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and medical practice management software.

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.

Eligibility & Experience

Freshers with good communication skills are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with US Call Center experience will be preferred.

Experience Required: 6 months to 1.5 years

Education

Graduation: Required

Post-Graduation: Preferred

Special Course: Not mandatory
