Job Summary
The Sr. Engineer – Solar Project (Mechanical – QA/QC) will lead a team responsible for quality inspection, monitoring, and assurance across solar PV project sites. This role involves overseeing the quality of MMS, trackers, fabrication, and testing of mechanical items and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and project SOPs. The position requires close coordination with vendors, clients, and internal teams to maintain the highest quality benchmarks across all stages of project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead QA/QC team for mechanical activities at project sites.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with all project quality requirements.
Supervise and monitor MMS, tracker installation, mechanical testing, and related works.
Ensure compliance with IS/IEC standards relevant to solar PV projects.
Implement and manage quality systems aligned with ISO 2859, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
Oversee site quality documentation, including QAP, SOPs, SFQP, checklists, and test reports.
Raise FOMs and NCRs for deviations, coordinate resolutions with vendors and OEMs.
Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly quality reports.
Conduct training sessions for site teams on quality standards and procedures.
Witness and verify FAT/SAT testing and inspections at vendor facilities.
Liaise with third-party testing agencies for pre-commissioning activities.
Coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues and FCRs.
Develop and review QA/QC templates, formats, and reports.
Ensure proper documentation of QA/QC records, certificates, calibration, and compliance reports.
Drive implementation of quality control systems for structural and mechanical components.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years (10 years for Diploma holders) of QA/QC experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects.
Proven track record of managing quality functions at project sites.
Experience Requirements:
Technical Skills
Proficiency in interpreting civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings, layouts, GTP & QAP.
Strong understanding of IS/IEC standards relevant to solar projects.
Knowledge of material specifications, grades, and mechanical strength testing.
