Position Overview:
We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee the entire ice cream or frozen dessert production process, from formulation to packaging. The role requires ensuring high-quality output, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and smooth execution of multi-SKU manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Operations & Planning

Lead daily production operations to meet demand, quality, and cost targets.

Plan, schedule, and execute SKU-wise production based on sales forecasts and inventory.

Manage manpower, machinery, and materials to maximize output and minimize downtime.

Supervise end-to-end processes including mix preparation, pasteurization, homogenization, ageing, freezing, filling, and packaging.

2. Production Design & SKU Management

Collaborate with R&D and marketing teams on new SKU launches.

Optimize production layouts and workflows for multiple flavors and pack sizes.

Maintain SKU planning and ensure balanced production runs to reduce wastage.

Ensure quick and efficient changeovers between SKUs.

3. Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and internal quality benchmarks.

Coordinate with QA teams for in-process checks and final product release.

Implement process improvements to enhance texture, flavor consistency, and shelf life.

4. Team & Process Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled production team with clear performance metrics.

Conduct training on SOPs, hygiene, safety, and process efficiency.

Collaborate with maintenance, procurement, and logistics teams for smooth operations.

5. Data, Costing & Reporting

Maintain and analyze daily production reports: yield, wastage, downtime, and SKU performance.

Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for optimization.

Present monthly MIS and operational improvement plans to management.

 

Experience Requirements:

Key Skills & Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of ice cream or dairy manufacturing processes.

Expertise in SKU planning, production design, and capacity optimization.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and process-oriented mindset.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and modern factory management tools.

Analytical, detail-oriented, and focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma, B.Tech / M.Tech in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 6 years in FMCG / Dairy / Ice Cream production, with at least 4-5 years in a managerial role.

Preferred: Experience in ice cream or frozen dessert factory setup, multi-SKU manufacturing, and automation systems.
