Position Title: Pattern Maker / Fashion Designer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Salary: Starting from AED 5,000
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pattern Maker / Fashion Designer with strong expertise in ready-to-wear and couture garments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of pattern-making, garment construction, draping, grading, and quality control. This role also requires leadership abilities to manage a team of tailors and excellent communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate patterns for western women’s wear, including dresses, jackets, pants, skirts, and related apparel.
Apply draping techniques to create designs and translate them into patterns.
Perform manual grading for different sizes.
Oversee garment quality control to maintain the highest standards.
Prepare and maintain detailed specification sheets.
Utilize computer applications (spreadsheets and design-related tools) for documentation and workflow management.
Manage and guide a team of tailors to ensure smooth production processes.
Coordinate fittings and resolve any technical or design issues.
Maintain professionalism and attention to detail in all stages of production.
Experience Requirements:
Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in the fashion industry, with a strong focus on ready-to-wear and couture.
At least 10 years of proven experience in pattern-making for western women’s wear.
Proficiency in draping and converting draped designs into patterns.
Skilled in manual grading.
Strong expertise in garment quality control processes.
Computer literacy (especially spreadsheets and design documentation).
Ability to prepare clear and accurate specification sheets.
Previous experience managing and leading a team of tailors.
Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
Must be currently in Dubai and available for an in-person interview.
Two professional references from previous employers are required.
