Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to oversee procurement operations and ensure smooth material availability for diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, vendor management experience, and a deep understanding of procurement processes within the diagnostics or healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Review and verify stock levels; approve indents as required.

Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and follow through for timely approvals.

Liaise with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods.

Verify the quality and quantity of delivered materials against Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).

Coordinate with Quality Control, Lab Managers, and Vendors for returns and disposals.

Track stock levels and stock value; maintain up-to-date GRN entries.

Ensure availability of buffer stock to avoid operational delays and stock-outs.

Focus on improving Cost Per Test (CPRT) across parameters.

Monitor product expiry dates and enforce First Expiry First Out (FEFO) protocols.

Verify completeness and accuracy of all purchase documentation (Indent, PO, Invoice, GRN, QC).

Ensure timely invoice verification and submission of documents for payment processing.

Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for procurement, inventory, returns, and disposals.

Monitor wastage of reagents and consumables.

Manage outsourced sample shipments and associated logistics and payments.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of purchases, supplier pricing, and key procurement data.

Coordinate with lab managers to create effective procurement schedules.

Evaluate vendor performance and handle issue resolution.
