Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR professional to lead and manage the full spectrum of Human Resources operations in a mid-sized organization with approximately 220 on-roll and 80 contract employees. The role demands strategic insight combined with hands-on execution across HR functions, supporting both shop-floor and support departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Talent Acquisition & Staffing

Manage end-to-end recruitment for all departments, ensuring timely hiring for both permanent and contract roles.

Collaborate with departmental heads (e.g., Machine Shop, Quality, Sales, Engineering) to define hiring needs.

Coordinate with manpower agencies for contract staffing requirements.
2. Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

Implement structured onboarding and induction processes.

Conduct exit interviews and manage full and final settlements.

Maintain accurate employee documentation in compliance with statutory norms.
3. HR Operations

Maintain HRMS systems and ensure up-to-date personnel records, attendance, leave, and payroll inputs.

Monitor and report HR metrics such as attrition, absenteeism, and headcount.

Administer contract workforce records and processes.
4. Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance with labor laws (ESI, PF, Gratuity, etc.).

Conduct periodic internal audits and coordinate with finance/legal for statutory obligations.
5. Performance Management

Facilitate the annual appraisal process with department heads.

Develop and implement performance review tools and development plans.
6. Employee Engagement & Culture

Design and drive employee engagement initiatives including R&R programs and cultural events.

Address grievances and disciplinary matters with fairness and adherence to company policy.
7. Training & Development

Identify training needs in collaboration with function heads.

Coordinate technical and soft-skill training programs.

Track training effectiveness and maintain records.
8. Policy Implementation & Communication

Draft, update, and enforce HR policies and standard operating procedures.

Ensure consistent implementation and communication across teams.
9. Workforce Planning & Budgeting

Support management in workforce forecasting and HR budgeting.

Analyze workforce trends and provide insights for manpower optimization.
10. Leadership Coordination

Share regular HR updates with senior leadership.

Act as a liaison across departments, especially in complex shop-floor environments.
Experience Requirements:
Key Interactions:
Daily coordination with functional heads for staffing, performance, and grievance redressal.
Engagement with leadership on recruitment strategies, training, compliance, and workforce planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
Around 10 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industries.
Sound knowledge of Indian labor laws and compliance.
Proven experience handling both permanent and contract workforces.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Working knowledge of HRMS/ERP tools is a plus.
