Job Summary:

A leading opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer with Business Development expertise is open in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the energy, utilities, and automation sectors across the Gulf region. This role blends technical leadership with strategic sales and business growth, requiring deep knowledge in SCADA systems, industrial automation, protection & control systems, renewable energy, and Industry 4.0/4.2 technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving technical projects and expanding business networks across the region.


Key Responsibilities:

Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Lead and supervise engineering teams on SCADA, automation, and electrical system projects.

  • Manage the design and implementation of HV/MV/LV electrical systems, control panels, PLC/SCADA, and instrumentation.

  • Ensure compliance with local (DEWA, ADDC) and international standards (IEC).

  • Oversee timelines, budgets, and quality assurance of all engineering deliverables.

Team & Project Management

  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.

  • Liaise with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams for seamless project delivery.

  • Conduct technical reviews and project risk assessments.

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Identify new business opportunities in utilities, infrastructure, and industrial automation.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including government entities, EPCs, and consultants.

  • Lead proposal development, presentations, and technical-commercial negotiations.

Market Strategy & Growth

  • Develop go-to-market strategies for automation, control, and digital solutions.

  • Monitor trends in renewable energy, smart grids, and digital transformation.

  • Identify cross-sector opportunities and align offerings with customer needs.

Client Relationship & Sales Leadership

  • Build and manage high-level client relationships with utility bodies (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, etc.).

  • Drive contract negotiations and sales closure.

  • Conduct workshops, demos, and technical sessions for decision-makers.

Solution Development & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to tailor solutions for market demands.

  • Convert customer requirements into efficient automation, SCADA, or protection systems.

  • Contribute to tender responses and commercial strategies.

Leadership & Reporting

  • Support regional sales teams across the GCC.

  • Deliver forecasts, pipeline updates, and market intelligence to senior management.

  • Represent the organization at exhibitions, conferences, and industry events.



Experience Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or Automation preferred).

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the GCC, particularly with SCADA, automation, and utility projects.

  • Proven track record in technical leadership, sales, and business development.

  • Deep understanding of UAE regulations and standards (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA).

  • Strong expertise in platforms like Siemens, Schneider, ABB, and Honeywell SCADA systems.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills.

  • UAE driving license preferred.

  • Familiarity with RTUs, IEDs, smart metering, and grid integration solutions.

  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0/4.2 technologies (IIoT, AI, edge computing, digital twins).

  • Successful history of closing large-scale contracts or forming strategic partnerships.


Nice to Have:

  • PMP certification or an MBA.

  • Existing network within UAE utility or government sectors.

  • Experience with smart grid or digital transformation initiatives.
