Job Summary:
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales function in India for a global electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. This senior leadership position is tasked with developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, building high-performing teams, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sales Leadership
Develop and implement a tailored sales strategy aligned with organizational goals and the Indian EV market.
Set and manage revenue targets and performance metrics across customer segments.
Identify and prioritize market opportunities including individual buyers, fleet clients, and institutional partnerships.
2. Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing sales team, including regional managers and dealership partners.
Foster a high-performance culture with regular performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development initiatives.
Ensure the team is aligned with brand values, customer focus, and sales objectives.
3. Market Development & Partnerships
Expand the sales and distribution network through strategic partnerships with dealerships, distributors, and B2B clients.
Collaborate with government entities and industry bodies to utilize EV incentives and policies.
Build alliances with service providers including charging infrastructure partners and fleet operators.
4. Key Account & Customer Relationship Management
Drive relationship management with key customers and corporate accounts.
Lead major sales negotiations and contracts to ensure favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
Use customer feedback and market insights to refine offerings and enhance satisfaction.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing and product teams to create tailored campaigns and market-relevant products.
Provide sales-driven market insights to support product development and strategic initiatives.
Align sales and marketing efforts to maximize brand awareness and conversion rates.
6. Market Intelligence & Reporting
Conduct ongoing analysis of competitor activities, pricing strategies, and consumer trends.
Deliver accurate forecasts, performance analytics, and pipeline visibility to leadership using CRM tools.
Stay informed on regulatory developments, incentives, and infrastructure affecting the EV industry in India.
7. Operational Excellence
Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and cost efficiency for the sales function.
Standardize and optimize sales processes for scalability across regions.
Ensure full compliance with national regulations and internal corporate standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 12 years in automotive sales, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven success in B2B and B2C sales within the Indian market.
Experience managing large, distributed sales teams and multi-location dealership operations.
Skills:
Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Deep understanding of India’s automotive and EV sectors.
Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and data-driven decision-making.
Strategic mindset with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel extensively across India and internationally when required.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Hindi or other regional languages is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in electric vehicle or clean energy industries.
Established network within Indian auto dealerships, fleet services, or regulatory agencies.
Familiarity with EV-specific policies such as FAME and state-level subsidy programs.
